Inspired to scraplift - oh yeah I am!

I'll be the first to admit that I get inspired from the work of others - seeing beautiful work from designers or someone who is passionate about their art gets my creative juices flowing.  I came across a layout that did more than that for me - I loved absolutely everything about this layout from the colours, to the products, to the sparseness and negative space.  Louise Nelson is a designer for Prima Marketing; so you know I already love the products.  She used gold on black and kept it simple - and stunning.  You can visit Louise's blog post here

Here is my version of her layout

And here is a photo of Louise's original!  I can't get enough of it! Wowzah!!

Thank you for looking!

cute and innocent to Monster High

My daughter is going to a Monster High themed birthday party and I don't know where to find a Monster High birthday card, so I decided to make a tag, and what better a base than to use one of the Julie Nutting doll stamps from Prima - I can draw hair and give her a creepy looking dress and add some bling - that's about all it takes eh?  Well there you go - I painted it up with my watercolour pencils (loving these) and added some tulle and some SIC (Say it in Crystals) to the tag.

An amazing ArtVenture in Cornwall

What a fantastic time I had at the Cornwall Art Venture!  Three extremely talented ladies taught two classes each over the course of two days ... and a make and take!  I would definitely do it again if they come back to Cornwall!!

Cari's Classes - I learned the most from these classes - and got to use newly released products - love the 2nd layout it came with a frame!  Love the new Seashore collection!!!

Jamie's Classes - the 2nd one is my favorite of the weekend.

Limor's classes

Oh my goodness - do you see all this!

These were the Make N Takes on the Friday evening - Cari brought a Fuji Instax camera that takes these mini polaroid photos and we got to create with the Insta Scrap collection.

On the Thursday night we had a special episode of Live With Prima that was recorded live at Auntie Em's Scrapbooking in front of a Live Studio Audience - all the Auntie Em's Peeps!!!! and took a group photo afterwards!

Well there you have it folks - a pictorial review of my weekend last weekend.  Let me know what you think!  And ... I've heard a rumor that Art Venture may be coming back to Cornwall next year ... keep your eyes and ears open for this!

Pop up card box

Using Crate Paper's "Oh Darling" collection I created a 3D box card.  This card takes a lot of practice to get the folds in the right directions and sizes, but once you figure it out its stunning, and believe it or not it folds up flat!

I got the template here

March Build-A-Page challenge from Prima

Whoa - how did I miss posting this?  It was sitting in my Draft box the whole time ... well here you go!

The March sketch for Prima's BAP was very Pocket Scrapbooking inspired.  I used the Engraver collection and followed the sketch closely without taking too many liberties.

Here is the sketch....

Art Venture Cornwall - are you ready??

Another Prima Art Venture is almost here ... and here are my ATC's for the swap!

I used one of the Bloom Girl stamps designed by Jamie - I coloured them with Distress markers on heavyweight watercolour paper.  I added a few little Prima flowers and some Say It In Crystals to the centres.  A little bit of gold for eye shadow.

I hope everyone loves them!

You know what?  You can win some RAK from me if you are chosen as the lucky commenter when I reach 40K!
